Jewellery Care
Anilen handmade jewellery can be easily cleaned with a soft, dry cloth.
For the copper jewellery:
- Sometimes just warm water and dish soap are all you need.
- You can also dip a cloth in vinegar and gently rub the piece. The vinegar can be mixed with baking soda to add extra cleaning power.
- A paste of lemon juice and baking soda is sometimes used to clean copper.
One thing you have to be aware of when cleaning copper jewellery is any gemstones that are a part of it. Many stones can not be exposed to water or other cleaners at all. So, while the copper could be soaked in water or a cleaner, if there are stones in the jewellery, you would have to just wipe it down.
For the silver/gold-plated copper wire jewellery:
- Clean your jewellery after wearing it. The oils from your skin will collect on the surface of the silver and cause oxidisation.
- Use warm water to gently wash your jewellery on a regular basis, drying it off with a soft cloth.
- Regularly polish your jewellery, using a polishing cloth at the first sign of tarnishing.
