Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, all our #artpieces jewellery are hand crocheted from stainless steel, plated with silver or gold.

We advise you, for longer lasting jewellery pieces, to:

  • Store and protect your handmade jewellery, in jewellery boxes or material bags. Place them afterwards in a clean, dry place.
  • Put on our handmade jewellery pieces after washing, after applying body care (like serums, creams, and lotions), and after applying any makeup, hair spray, gels, perfume or any other kind of styling/makeup products.
  • To clean your jewelry, in most cases, all you need is a clean soft cloth, like a chamois.

We recommend you to take off your jewellery when washing hands, bathing, doing household tasks, sleeping, tanning, going to the beach or doing sports.

Anilen handmade jewellery can be easily cleaned with a soft, dry cloth.

For the copper jewellery:

  • Sometimes just warm water and dish soap are all you need.
  • You can also dip a cloth in vinegar and gently rub the piece. The vinegar can be mixed with baking soda to add extra cleaning power.
  • A paste of lemon juice and baking soda is sometimes used to clean copper.

One thing you have to be aware of when cleaning copper jewellery is any gemstones that are a part of it. Many stones can not be exposed to water or other cleaners at all. So, while the copper could be soaked in water or a cleaner, if there are stones in the jewellery, you would have to just wipe it down.

For the silver/gold-plated copper wire jewellery:

  • Clean your jewellery after wearing it. The oils from your skin will collect on the surface of the silver and cause oxidisation.
  • Use warm water to gently wash your jewellery on a regular basis, drying it off with a soft cloth.
  • Regularly polish your jewellery, using a polishing cloth at the first sign of tarnishing.
